This is the documentary that gave birth to Piz Gloria DOC. Shot in January 2000, it is a trip around South Africa, from the bush to the ocean. The first part is dedicated to a safari in the Kruger Park, in the East side of the country. Giraffes, elephants, lions, rhinoceros, leopards, zebras and impalas are filmed in their natural environment. Then, our troupe moved to the South to Cape Town, the city surrounded by the ocean and the Table Mountain, the famous flat hill often covered by clouds.
On the road to Cape of Good Hope, we met the small town of Boulders Beach, where a funny colony of penguins lives and walks in the streets. We shot at Cape of Good Hope with its amazing sand dunes and in the Winelands where the famous South African wines are produced. We reached Cape Agulhas, the southest point of the African continent where the Atlantic and Indian Ocean join. Then, proceeding toward east, the troupe drove on the Garden Route to the Tsitsikamma National Park, where we hiked on the Otter Trail surrounded by waterfalls, the forest and the ocean. The documentary also features some of the most amazing guesthouses in South Africa, in beautiful estates with breath-taking views.
