,
Now that you are here, let me introduce ourselves.

I am Piya and this is my husband, Ray. We live in Concord, California. We are originally from India but been in the US for the past few years. Ray is a Management Consultant and works for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young LLC. I am a homemaker busy looking after my seven month old daughter, Rhea.

Some details of our family in India -

My Dad,, P.K.Ghosh is a retired Army Colonel, now working at a Tea Garden in Assam. My Mom, Priti Ghosh used to work as a school teacher, but now she is a homemaker and does activities like handicrafts and flower arrangement. My brother, Pradeep is pursuing Masters Degree in Computer Manegement from Pune University.

I was born in the gracious city of Nawabs, Lucknow,India. I completed my Bachelors Degree in English Literature from Mahila College, Lucknow. Being an army officer's daughter, I had the opportunity to travel and live in different parts of India, from Nagaland to Kanyakumari. Thanks to my parents, I had an exciting childhood. As luck would have it, marrying Ray has given me a chance to see the world. We have an interesting story about how we met over the internet. Details on our, wedding page.

Enough about myself, now let me tell you more about Ray.

Let's start with his name ... Ray is his anglicised name. His Indian name is Raichand. It is much easier for his colleagues to call him Ray than his Indian name. He was born in the North Eastern part of India, Arunachal Pradesh, which borders with China and Bhutan. These parts of India, are very beautiful and hilly with lots and lots of forests. If you ever go to India, plan on making a trip to the North East, it is much different from the big metros of Calcutta, Bombay, Delhi. His,Dad, S.K. Mitra retired as the Joint Secretary of the state and his Mom, Dipali Mitra was a homemaker. They both passed on. Ray has two sisters, Sakuntala & Saibalini & three adorable neices & nephew - Tua, Tunia & Tubu. Ray is an Electronics Engineering graduate from Kerala University,India. Like me, Ray has also lived in different parts of India , all the way from Kanyakumari to Itanagar. Having lived at various places, he picked up quite a few languages. He speaks Malayalam, Assamese, Nepali. he has also taken courses in Deutsch & Nihongo (go figure .. hahaha ). We both speak Bengali, our mother tongue. Bengali is also the National language of Bangladesh. We speak Hindi, our National language.

We have been married for over a year now & what a year this has been!We became new parents from newly weds within a year. We are proud of our daughter Rhea. Ray & I enjoy music & good food so we,ve provided some of our family recepies. Thanks for stoping by & Enjoy.
