March 8th, 1997

John, my brother, married Lisa.

It was a beautiful wedding and it didn't rain which is amazing for Oregon.

This is John and I.

When I walked into the room. He was shocked. I guess he couldn't believe his little sister was growing up.

This is the wedding party. Yes, it was a small wedding, well sort of . . . the church was packed.

Yes, my eyes are slightly shut here but I couldn't help it. Before I stepped out of the door I was told a joke about my brother and when I saw him standing at the other end trying to stay calm. I started to laugh.

This is Joel and Mandy.

Two of my friends from UO who agreed to come to the wedding with me.

It was funny because my family thought that they were going out.

Of course when I told my relatives they weren't going out, they thought Joel was my boyfriend.

How do you explain to old fashion people that girls and guys can just be friends???

I think that my family now understands but who knows what will happen the next time I bring some guy friends home.
