Lienna + Lestat

Dark storm clouds gathered that Saturday night and the rain only began to pour after mass had just ended. As people left the church, a group of post-teenagers exited the church as well and walked back to the car they had came in. One girl cursed the rain, complaining that it was going to mess up her outfit. Then there was a whisper among them and they all turned to another girl.
Im sorry Lienna. I know how you dont like it when we curse when were at church.
The young woman, Lienna Radinwish, with her green eyes and brown hair, just smiled. Oh, its alright. Its not like were actually in church anyways!
All the other girls laughed and they got into the vehicle. Lienna sat in the back, behind the drivers seat and stared out at the world as they drove away from the church. She stared out at the clouds, as they cried away the earths sorrows, and how the water washed away all the grime and evil. At that moment, she blinked, coming back to reality to hearing her name called and feeling the slight poke in her right arm. She turned and looked around at the three other girls. Hmm? They all laughed, commenting on how she had been day dreaming again.
Tania was asking if you were ready to go to the club tonight. I mean, it is your first time going out, ever, right? asked the girl sitting in shot-gun.
Lienna laughed, trying to push away the nervousness that pushed itself inside of her. Yeah, but I go to the movies, sometimes.
Ha, like just once! joked the girl, Tania, sitting next to her. The rest of the girls joined in the laughter as well.
They continued to drive on, along the road to downtown New Orleans. Their destination: The Original Dungeon. As they neared closer to the night club all the girls began to take out their make up and alternate their outfits. Lienna just sat there, doing nothing. Tania gave Lienna a look of sympathy and motioned for her to come closer. Lienna did so and Tania applied some black eyeliner onto her bottom eyelids. There, she said. Now youll be able to fit in a lot easier.
Oh, harsh, Tania, harsh! said the girl behind the wheel as she scanned the area for a place to park.
Tania rolled her eyes at her friend. I didnt mean it that way, Alyssa. The girl in shot-gun then looked at Lienna and smiled. Dont worry; everything is going to go just fine!
An hour or so and Lienna sat still at the side of where everyone danced at. She downed a few glasses of club soda, Shirley temples, and virgin daiquiris while everyone else drank actual daiquiris, rum and coke, and many other alcoholic drinks. Lienna always liked to think of herself as the sober driver. She looked out at the crowd in search of her friends. Once finding them, she smiled watching how they danced to the beat. She also watched the neon lights as they moved with the music as well.
Then, she pressed her brows together as she saw someone she did not recognize. It was a man, whom danced with her three friends, who had curly, light brown hair that met his shoulders and piercing chestnut colored eyes, and pale, milky white skin. She assumed he was around his 20s. His eyes then met Liennas and she moved back, surprised. As he continued to dance, all time seemed to slow around them, even the music rolled along second by second; the moves he made were quite seducing. She watched him as she made continual advances towards her, motioning to her to join him on the dance floor, and her breaths became short, her heart beats quickening. Smirking, choosing to ignore him, she turned and looked at the bartender. Speaking a few words to him, she paid for her drinks, stood up, and left the club.
Lienna walked down the street, alone, after just leaving the club. I knew going to the club was a bad idea, she thought.
Suddenly, the man from the club appeared in front of her. She gasped and stopped walking. And why would you think that? he asked.
P-Pardon? she stuttered and looked around. The street was dark and empty. There was no one around she could cry to for help. This only made her heart beat faster.
Dont worry, youre in no danger he replied with a smile and took her hands in his. Now, why did you think that visiting the club was such a bad idea?
I-I was only thinking that she responded, and tried stepping back to get out of his grasp, but only felt his hands tightening their grip. Lienna swallowed. Well, I dont usually go to clubs, I just stay at home.
Sounds boring, he said and pulled her closer to himself. He wrapped her arms around her, the icy cold of his skin sent a chill down her spine, and bringing his head and next to hers, he whispered into her ear, Dont worry, my dear, I promise it wont hurt.
Lienna woke up suddenly; she was back at her apartment, in her bedroom, lying in her bed. She sat up and looked around, wondering if it was all a dream. The phone rang, making her practically jump out of her skin. She glanced over at her bedside table, at the phone that sat there. Still connecting with reality, she slowly reached over and brought the phone to the side of her head. H-Hello? she said.
Lienna, good morning! spoke a familiar voice from the receiver.
Lienna groaned, rubbing her eyes. Good morning Alyssa.
Hell, I mean heck of a time last night, dont you think?
Well, I dont really remember it
She heard a giggle, and Alyssa replied, No surprise. You were totally wasted.
What?! Lienna widened her eyes.
Heh, yeah. I guess you had wandered out of the club or something, cuz you had come back with that hottie that was dancing with us. He was so nice! He said that he had watched you leave the club and followed you incase you would be in danger, noticing that you were all trippy an all. So, when he returned you, Lienna, you almost made all of us fall over by what you looked like. You were drunk, actually, more than drunk, beyond drunk.
Lienna blinked, not believing what she was hearing. Alyssa snickered and asked almost too cheerfully, So, how do you feel this morning?
Lienna, trying to remember what she had read about over drinking when she was in high school, the morning after would result in a hangover. And as she remembered the symptoms, as a matter of fact, she felt fine. But, how would Alyssa react to that? Lienna groaned, Oh, so horrible! I have this pounding headache that just doesnt seem to go away I am so grateful that I finally stopped throwing up last night too! She had done it; she had lied to one of her best friends. She didnt really know why, but at that moment in time, it was the best thing to do.
Alyssa laughed, Yep, no surprise. You should feel fine tomorrow.
Oh thank goodness! she said, keeping along with the act.
Thats too bad though. I was hoping I could get you to come along with me tonight, Alyssa said, a bit disappointed.
Really now? Lienna asked, switching the phone to her other ear.
Yeah! The guy that helped you back to the bar invited me to his place tonight. He said to bring a friend, so I thought of you. But since youre sick an all
Actually, Lienna perked up. Im starting to feel a lot better now. At this rate I could be feeling just fine and go with you tonight!
Seriously?! Alyssas voice had become happier. Thats, like, a miracle or something!
No kidding! What time should I be ready by?
Six o clock, Ill pick you up.
Perfect, Lienna said. See you then. She returned the phone back to its holder and got off the bed. She walked into her bathroom and looked into the mirror. Lienna stared at the Lienna staring back at her and sighed. Now why did I go and do all of that? First lying to her and then actually going with her to see that creep again. I guess I just didnt want her to go alone, is all. But I could have trusted Kim or Tania to go with her Glancing down at the counter she grabbed her black rosary and put it on. No wonder I had such bad luck last night. Forgot my necklaces, she chuckled. She took of the rosary and put on a silver crucifix instead. Then she began getting ready.
Maybe, she spoke aloud to herself, The real reason I want to go and see that man again is to figure out why everyone thought I had drank too much last night.
