Extreme Pain

Once more the pain becomes extreme
I shock you with an anguished scream.
Grasping my limbs to hold within
The hot torture I feel begin.

Your eyes, like mine, awash with tears
Which flow freely, but cleanse no fears.
My eyes tight shut, my face now wet
I yearn to this pain just forget.

I seek to hold my pain inside
With you here I must my fears hide.
Pain now controlling my body
You are not fooled at all by me.

Though eyes are blurred with scalding tears
I see mirrored in yours my fears;
Does this mean once more I will see
The start of more death prophecy.

Body shaking in agony.
You share my pain with empathy.
Our love is real, so thus you know
The pain I tried hard not to show.

I know how hard you are trying
To help me as I?m pain fighting.
But I don?t think you realize,
It hurts to see fear in your eyes.

A reason you have given me
To live, and more, to be happy.
But now this pain is once more here,
But different, ?cause you share my fear.

Limbs heavy with my pain and fear,
Yet still I fight on, with you here.
My body wracked in misery
But I can feel your pride in me.

Your pride and love will drive me on
To fight damage this pain has done.
I hate the fear in you I view
But I?ll still share my fears with you.

I know you?d like to understand
What causes such pain in your man.
But no explanation is there
I guess that life just is not fair.

I know, too, that you have a need
To a painless place me lead.
Yet all you can do is be here
And kiss away each hot, dry tear.

When the pain finally abates
Please do not blame God or the fates.
Just hold my hand, please don?t worry
If tremors shake mind and body.

With me there is no guarantee.
I could live long, or die quickly.
The sudden pain, a mystery
Could once more be gone completely.

Your pride in me, your fear, worry
Gives me strength to fight endlessly.
In spite of all the pain I feel
I?ll beat it, with your love so real.
