Wednesday, May 29--PENGUINS, LEMIEUX SECOND TO NONE IN RECENT POLL (www.pittsburghpenguins.com)

The Carolina Hurricanes may have a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals, but the Penguins have a spot in more fans hearts.

According to ESPN Sports Polls, the Penguins are the favorite team of 6.8% of hockey fans, second place in a year-long survey conducted between April 2001 and March 2002. The only response given more to the question What is your favorite National Hockey League team? was None, thus making the Pens second to none among hockey fans aged 12 and up.

Coming in slightly behind Pittsburgh was the Detroit Red Wins at 6.7%, the only other team to post a six percent mark or higher. Rounding out the top five were the Boston Bruins (5.5%) and the Dallas Stars (5.4%). Cross-state rivals, the Philadelphia Flyers, came in sixth overall at 5.2%.

In a related poll, Penguins captain Mario Lemieux was voted the most popular player in the NHL, once again trailing only the None response. Just under 14% of all respondents chose Lemieux as their favorite player, with Other coming in third at 5.2%. Steve Yzerman was the next-highest choice at 3.6%, and was trailed by Patrick Roy (3.4%) and Jaromir Jagr (3.3%). No other player topped the three-percent mark.

Tuesday, May 14--PENGUINS HOLD THE LINE ON SEASON TICKET PRICES (www.pittsburghpenguins.com)

The Pittsburgh Penguins today announced that they will not raise season ticket prices for the 2002-03 season. The prices of
the teams youth, family and student ticket programs also will remain the same.

Although price increases from year to year have become the norm in professional sports, weve decided to hold the line on
our season ticket prices, and our family and student prices, said Tom Rooney, president of Team Lemieux. We appreciate
the support of our fans, especially following a season when we didnt make the playoffs for the first time in 12 years.
Now, were looking to the future. Were excited about the draft in June, and about getting ready for next season.

Current season ticket holders will receive a mailing from the Penguins this week, informing them that there will be no
increase in ticket prices.

Penguins season tickets are available in a wide range of prices and seating locations, from $17 to $68 per game for full
season tickets. The team offers both full and partial season ticket packages, including the popular 20-Plus plans, which
feature 20 or more games of the fans choice, and a flexible 10-game plan. All plans include a significant
discount off the gate price, as well as other amenities.

Gate prices for individual game tickets will be raised in 2002-03, further increasing the discount received by season ticket
holders. But Rooney also emphasized that the Penguins popular youth, family and student ticket programs
will continue without any price increase.

The UPMC/Mario Lemieux Family Program enables an adult to buy a ticket for $25 and then purchase up to six kids
(16 and under) tickets for just $10 apiece. The price has not increased since Lemieux created the program in
September, 1999.

The Student Rush program enables college and high school students to purchase available tickets for $20 at
Mellon Arena an hour before game time. Student Rush is co-sponsored by Duquesne University and 105.9 The X.

It always will be our goal to have attractive ticket programs for families and students, so that we can expose
as many young people as possible to the excitement of Penguins hockey, Rooney said.

The Penguins also will continue to offer an impressive package of amenities in their season ticket packages.
Season ticket holders receive a significant discount off the gate price and the opportunity to take advantage of a
10-month, interest-free payment plan, as well as seating priority and playoff priority. In 2001-02, they also
received a free Penguins media guide, free bonus tickets to a Penguins game, a season ticket holder gift ($50 gift
certificate to the PenStation gift shop), free tickets to other hockey-related events (Penguins FanFest, U.S.
Olympic womens game, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton AHL game), a team photo, and free tickets to the Mario Lemieux Celebrity
Invitational golf tournament. In addition season ticket holders are able to purchase additional
Penguins tickets at their STH discount price.

The 2002-03 amenities package also will include free admission to several special season ticket holder-only events.
For Penguins season ticket information, please call 412-642-PENS, or toll-free at 1-800-642-PENS. Or, email the Penguins
ticketing department at [email protected].

Individual game tickets will go on sale in early September. Gate prices will be announced at that time.
