____________________________________)

            I, Relashia Searles, declare:

I am a plaintiff in this case.

I worked at King’s Command Foods, Inc. through the temporary agency, Interim on two occasions in 1996 and 1997.  I packed meatballs.  Each time I worked less than 90 days, and then was suddenly let go.  While there, I repeatedly asked people about getting on as a direct employee to be paid the union scale and have the medical benefits.  Other employees would tell me how this company was always hiring.  But every time I went to get an application, I was refused.

By “snappy” I mean that the response is “You’re not getting one!  You don’t need one!  You’re not gonna be here that long!”  Not only management, but the co-workers take their cue from management, and they would not treat me with respect.

I was never late.  I was never absent.  I worked extremely hard at a physical labor position, handling hundreds of pounds of meat.  I want to work, I don’t understand the flat refusal to allow me the opportunity submit an application while I was already there slamming meat.

I certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct.

Respectfully submitted and sworn to, December 14, 2001,

                                                                                    _______________________________
