Charles Orillon dit Champagne



Charles Orillon dit Champagne was born in France around 1652. He was the son of Me Julien & Anne Roger of St-Thomas de La Flèche, évêché d'Angers. Later, he was listed as a soldier at Fort Naxouat, Acadia in 1697.

On November 4th, 1704, he was hired as a masson to work on the fort of Port-Royal. Earlier that year on January 8th it was there that he married the nineteen year old Marie-Anne Bastarache (daughter of Jean & Hughette Vincent). Marie-Anne only lived until the age of 41. However, Charles Orillon lived until December 2, 1742 when he died at the age of 90.

This couple had nine children which included twin boys who died at the age of two weeks. You are descendants of their fourth son who was named after his father.

Charles Orillon dit Champagne the second was born on August 7, 1713. He married Anne Richard (daughter of François & Anne Comeau) in Port-Royal on September 22, 1734. Anne only lived until the age of forty-one.

Charles Orillon dit Champagne the second & Anne Richard had a daughter named Marie-Josephe Orillon who married Michel Pitre in Quebec City in 1759.
