Which character could this be?

More about the movie...

Release Date: 2nd or 3rd quarter 2005; the production company hopes to release this sometime in mid 2005 (as of 9/30/04). When this was first announced in may, 2004, a possible release in late 2005 to coinside with the game release was mentioned.

Title Note: (8/21/04) There isn't any word yet about what the title of this revival of Pit-Fighter will be. It's likely to be something other than what I have above (Pit-Fighter The Movie), but that's what I'll call it for now.

Distributor: Currently seeking distribution in the USA. New Line Cinema is the likely candidate. New Line distributed the Mortal Kombat series, but apparently, the film rights for this newest arcade fighter to big screen version are up-for-grabs.

Type of Animation: 3-D CGI (computer generated imagery). Yes, some special moves will include CGI effects, which is likely the reason the release was delayed.

Animation Studios: Rainbow Studios, Digital Dream Studio

Cast:
Daniel Bernhardt (Kato) (2/15/05)

Director: Unknown.

Screenwriter: Unknown.

Based upon: The extremely popular early 1990's video game created by Atari.

(8/21/04) What isn't known yet is what exactly this film will be about. Will it indeed retell the origin (not a bad idea), or just start out with a fresh story where they're already established characters? My personal hope is that this film adapts, to a T, the story of the first Pit-Fighters!

Filming: Computer animation is scheduled to start sometime this summer in Hawaii, on a budget of $5-10 million.

Genres: Live action with some CGI, Eye Candy, Martial Arts

(6/30/04) The Hollywood Reporter ran a lengthy summary of how the franchise is being revived. Nothing breathtaking to include here.
