Retrograde (2005)

Cast:Dolph Lundgren,Gary Daniels, Silivia De Santis, Joe Sagal

Dolph Lundgren's first action star team up since Universal Soldier, finds a way to waste both Lundgren and Daniels in a Timecop inspired nonsense revolving time traveling soldiers who fight to stop a virus from killing the world in the future.  Of course you would think with two action stars (Even if one is a C-lister) this would provide tons of action and kickboxing,  especially a go between Lundgren and Daniels.  You would be wrong because this film doesn't have much action and the cheap production values make this a mish mash nonsense about time travel, viruses and a disasterous script.

Gary Daniels was in a far better detailing time travel in the vastly superior Spoiler,  one with more of an involved storyline.  Dolph Lundgren on the other hand has been in a lot better movies and is one of the more dependable action stars, so seeing them only able to come up with this embarrassing film is sad. You would think Dolph would have a fight sequence with Gary Daniels, but this doesn't happen.  In fact the film plays like a lame disaster flick. Only die hard Lundgren fans will find anything worthwhile here and i'm guessing this will be a low point (though not his lowest) Lundgren won't ever reach. Ironically this is one of Daniels better movies. Sad but true. D.Christopher Kullikowski
