| Hard Ticket To Hawaii (1987) Cast:Ronn Moss, Dona Speir,Hope Marie Carlton, Harold Diamond, Cynthia Brimall Drug enforcement agents go up against ruthless druglords in Hawaii, do their thinking in hot tubs and even battle a cancer infested mutant snake in what is easily the best Andy Sidaris movie ever made, the action is slick, the story has enough plot to be enjoyable and the sense of humor make this an enjoyable trashy action flick with plenty of sleaze. Andy Sidaris has made some of the most unwatchable movies in the genre, his constant peepshow styled camera angles, lame comic relief and usually lame action sequences make his movies a genre only for teens not able to rent porn legally. That being said though, Hard Ticket To Hawaii emerges far above expectations, with heroes ridiculously macho, chicks who are ridiculously gorgeous and both extremely boneheaded. This has all the trademarks of a terrible film, with, out of nowhere nudity that goes on far longer than usual and a story that makes no sense but the pacing is quick, the action is well choreographed and the Hawaii location is lively enough to get beyond this. Plus there is a sense of humor that is broad but not unwelcome to add some verve to an already silly narrative. Also with a mutant snake and Rambo inspired climax, Hard Ticket To Hawaii is the only Andy Sidaris movie ever worth watching. D.Andy Sidaris*** |
