| Beyond Desire (1996) Cast:William Forsythe,Kari Wuher,Leo Rossi, Sharon Farrell Forsythe stars as "Elvis" Patterson, an ex-marine and Elvis worshiper who falls for a prostitute named Rita (Wuher, who else?) who maybe in on a plan to do him in. A mobster (Rossi, who else?) is looking for the stolen money and Patterson knows the location. Elvis has a plan of his own, he's looking for vengeance since it was Rossi who set him up. Beyond Desire (Also known as Last American Elvis, which is a funnier title) is one of the most sloppily made movie I've ever seen, that being said the movie is gigantic mess that even Forsythe's charisma can't save. One of the problems with Beyond Desire (It's American title) is that it's far too stilted with cliches and the story is aimless to say the least. Forsythe is of course great in the role, he does look a little too much like Dolph Lundgren from The Punisher but aside from that he makes for a good star. It's the story that is so sloppy that it's just too hard to get into. For instance we are never sure of Forsythe's intentions or anything. The sex scenes between Wuher and Forsythe are more disturbing than erotic, due to the fact that Forsythe shows his butt. I could've gone a lifetime without seeing Forsythe in the buff and been happy, unfortunately though someone thought it was a good idea to have Forsythe as an erotic lead. Kari Wuher is as usual, very attractive and her nude scenes are what people basically go to see. As an actress she's miscast and it's not that she is bad, just that she seems too young for the role. Plus I remember her from her MTV days, so it's always hard to get used to her as a lead in the erotic roles. The main problem though is that this action movie material, not erotic thriller material. There is no action and what there is pretty lackluster to say the least. However this movie is a mess and it's far too silly to recommend to anyone but serious fans of the three leads.
