Angel Town (1990)

Cast:Olivier Gruner,Theresa Saldana,Tony Valentino,Frank Aragon,Peter Kwong, Mark Dacascos

Olivier Gruner stars as a foreign exchange student who must deal with a Mexican gang who is trying to force Aragon into joining the gang, Gruner must now come to the defense of him and have him try and avenge his father in this  entertaining actionflick which marks as Gruner's debut.

Gruner of course is  France's answer to Jean-Claude Van Damme, and for the most part this is a lively vehicle if not too great which has a lot of good scenes with Olivier Gruner trying to adapt to American life where people come to attack him for no reason, the action is fast paced and the movie is rather entertaining, the acting isn't very good and the overall movie can be quite rascist at times but the movie is stylish and Karson puts the viewer right in the middle of the action.

The movie has quite a few silly moments, like the one where the wheelchair bound man comes to join Aragon defend his house and the flashbacks when Gruner was growing up in France and these scenes are a minus there are a few brutal moments that also don't work, but otherwise this is a decent Olivier Gruner flick with enough action to keep you intrested through out. D.Eric Karson .
