3rd Degree Burn (1989)

Cast:Treat Williams, Vriginia Madsen, CCH Pounder

Treat Williams stars as a private eye framed for murder by femme fatale, causing him to of course try and clear his name while not knowing who to trust, while
3rd Degree Burn was meant to get the blood pumping as well as entertain, the movie is too much of a cliche powerhouse that intantly fades from your memory as soon as it finishes it. It's underwelming and dull infact.

Treat Williams has always been an interesting lead, infact he has a lot of charisma that often times makes him quite an agreeable actor, unfortunately Williams and everyone else infact is left to flounder in the mediocrity of the script. Sure things are well acted and the production values are good (Especially for a made for tv movie) but most of the time things are just too predictable to be really captivated by the movie. It's inoffensive sure but the movie never seems to be trying hard enough, it's like they knew they were making something routine so they just made it into a by the numbers effort. Which is sad because there are moments when the movie actually seems to take a promising turn, only to be marred by routine plot threads. Plus despite giving good performances Williams and Madsen share little chemistry making this all the more disappointing. D.Roger Spottiswoode
