guitarist september 3rd, 1955 steve lived with his mother and his stepfather, and slept at the edge of their bed. he didn't feel wanted as a child, and did poorly in school. he stole all the time, and had fourteen convictions. he loved music, particularly roxy music, and, in a way, it saved him. he more or less stopped stealing when he joined the sex pistols, and, thus, the band kept him from going to jail. |

john lydon, lead singer january 31st, 1956 john was born to irish immigrant parents in london, and was the first of four boys, the others being jimmy, bobby and martin. he was ill from meningitis for about a year at the age of seven, and it left him in a coma. when he came out of the hospital, he had trouble seeing, a slight hunch, and several other problems. he was intelligent and did well in school until he was fifteen, by which point he had enough, and became known as a troublemaker, mainly because he would ask questions, which the teachers didn't appreciate. |

drummer july 20th, 1956 paul lived with his mother and father in a typically working class neighborhood. he met steve because they went to the same school, and they became friends. they went to parties and listened to ska music, and paul was also into the same kind of music as steve. he probably didn't do well in school, but i don't think he had a criminal record, and if he did, it definitely wasn't as bad as steve's. |

original bassist august 27th, 1956 glen went to school near paul and steve, but had a fairly normal childhood. he was properly fed and clothed, and never wanted to offend anybody (which later caused problems with the other members of the band). he eventually got a job at malcolm mclaren's shop on the king's road, where he met paul and steve, and, later, johnny. |

john beverly/simon ritchie, bassist may 10th, 1957 sid grew up with his mother, ann, a drug addict herself. he never experienced a truly stable home life, which caused his later personality problems: stubborn, childishly naive, very self-destructive. he never fit in, although he tried very hard, and was, as rotten later recalled, "a very gullible fashion victim, the worst i'd ever known." before he got into heroin with his girlfriend from america, nancy spungen, he was funny, laughing at everything. after he became a junkie, he lost that, and allegedly stabbed his girlfriend in new york, and, eventually, on february 2nd, 1979, died; some consider it to be a suicide, others an accidental overdose. |
