President's Message             updated 8/12/02
by Paul W. Clarke, Sr.

Since the last newsletter many things have been accomplished:

Light poles were erected on the trap and skeet fields. We still need to install new lights and remove old poles, but this should be accomplished before this letter goes to print. Thanks, Bob Weldin, Kris Kimball, and Bob's brother.

The flag pole has a new coat of paint, thanks to Paul Anderson. Flags will be flown everyday and will be put up and taken down daily.

Work on pistol pits 2 and 3 has nearly been completed. Thanks Kris Kimball, Carm Vescio and men.
Work days 18th and 19th of May, started out a real disappointment to me. Breakfast was ready at 7am--until??.  John Flynn came early to help me. Enough food was bought for 50--only 5 (five) were served!! The menu was bacon & eggs, sausage, pancakes, toast, leek & onion omelets, juice and coffee.  Your loss was definitely my gain.  Thanks John Flynn.  The breakfast was a flop, but the work party was a great success!!!  Seven men showed up ready, willing, and able for the task.  Rocks were picked up on the pistol berms and drainage opened up in the pistol bays.
Some "boon and rock" boulders found and scored by Dallas Sumner, Dave Kilmartin, John Flynn, John Moore, Paul Anderson and Nick Castigilia who came to shoot his rifle, asked what was going on, then spent two days working. Youre in the CLICK now Nick. Thanks guys for a great job.

The chimney has been completed, thaks to Larry Phillips, Paul Anderson and Steve Holt, the chimney is drafting great!!  We are starting to get a fresh supply of wood.

The roof on the skeet house has been fixed, new roof sheets and cap.  Dallas Sumner headed that project.  Dave Kilmartin and John Moore helped see it through.  Thank you.

We have had practical pistol shoots, pistolero shoots, chicken shoots, major trap and skeet shoots.  I will let the chairmen of these committees tell you about these events, but I want to thank everyone involved.

Our rifle raffle and party was a complete success and learning experience.  I am looking forward to September 21st, our next raffle and dinner party.  Tickets will be on sale at the meeting, at the bar. Get yours early, as only 700 will be sold.  Thanks to Larry Phillips, Larry & Connie Grant, Sam Burridge, Jason Grant, Brad Reitz, Sr., Brad Reitz, Jr., Steve Holt, Kris & Mary Kimball, Joe Kempston, Wayne Dashnaugh, Carm Vescio, C.J. Vescio, B.J. Kempston, Joe Anderson, Jim & Diane Wright, Paul & Linda Anderson, our MC Vern Cole, Kerry Kopkey, Dave & Cheryl, hot dog and hamburger cooks in the chicken barn. Mae & Bob McKnight, taking tickets at the door.
I have written this letter and tried to remember all events and the people who made them happen. If I have left anyone out, I am truly sorry.

Before I forget again, thanks to Brian Lamana for your help with the winter skeet league.

We have new coolers at the bar. Thanks to Eric Matson for arrainging the sale, supervising the unloading of the coolers, getting together the crew, and supervising the installation. The unloading crew Rich Buyer, Fred Gilbert, Mike Granger, Larry Phillips and John Levea. The installation crew Kris Kimball, Norm Nelson, Tom Davis, Mike Granger and Eric Matson. Also thanks to Carm Vescio, for the use of his equipment, and to John Moore, who operated the fork truck during the unloading.

Due to the resignation of a board member, we have appointed Sue Arnold to fill the vacancy.

The Sportsmen's Days have been cancelled.  We have decided to move the Chicken BBQ to Sunday, Sept. 15th, so mark it on your calendar.

All dues are due in September.  We will need a hand with the 10 gun raffle and dinner, which is a great fund raiser for the club, but it takes a lot of help.

I have heard it rumored that there is a "major click" at Pathfinder.  As I looked back to proof read this letter, many names appeared over and over.  Then the light came on -- there is a click!!!!  Formula: WORK + DEDICATION = CLICK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter Melissa, son-in-law Richard, grandson Landon and granddaughter Jancee, here from Butte, MT., came to the club to shoot trap and look over the club.  Their comments were: Melissa, everything is beautiful.  Richard, who was here at the club 15 years ago, WOW, this place has changed. It looks great.  Landon, my 15 year old grandson, and Jancee, my FAVORITE granddaughter, said the same.  I knew what they were thinking as they looked around, Grandpa is so lucky to be involved with this great place
.
Thanks to the small CLICK for doing a huge, huge, huge job.  See ya around the club, if I'm not fishing!!
