The discovery of sea serpents happened a few months before the Serpentry was founded. I was taking a quick swim out on my favourite lake, when a smooth surface rapidly brushed against my calf. At very first I thought it was merely a fish, but further thought led me to think that it couldn't have been a fish--they would more likely be far away from the place where I swam, because fish aren't exactly people creatures. As I tried to be as still as possible while treading water, a small, scaley face poked its muzzle out of the water apporoximately 100 feet away. It quickly dissapeared, to be followed by a larger version in different colours. For the first time it came to my attention the long, lithe shapes speeding through the murky water. They seemed to be leading to and from the same place--a cave on the opposite bank of the bay.
Though the bay was quite small, the water was still deep, and there must have been a good 10 feet of space between the surface of the water and the ground in the cave at it's deepest point. It was a wide opening in the rock, with a bank running along the water inside.
The next day I went to investigate the cave, and found it opened into a huge, deep pond--the sea serpents' lair. The serpents seemed to be fairly used to humans, but not used to humans who knew of their existance. They kept a fair distance at first, but gradually they got used to me. They became more and more comfortable in my presence, until they came close enough to touch, but I didn't dare.
Eventually I brought a friend to see them, gently coaxing the serpents to get used to her as well. Slowly but surely, they got used to more and more humans. It was on a day where I didn't bring any companions when their leader, a dark yellow male with orange spikes and blue eyes named Kirasin spoke to me, and I discovered that the sea serpents could understand the many dialects of the human world, and those of the waters(they did not say how they learned all these things).
Though I can't remember the exact words, he said that some sea serpents of his clan had agreed to continue the domestication process with me, and would gladly go to new homes, as long as I kept track of them and reported to him regularily. I agreed to his terms, and have been visiting this little bay frequently ever since to prepare the sea serpents for a life with owners.
Now the sea serpents are almost completely domesticated, and will be available to the PI public very soon. Also, Kirasin has informed me that sometimes, if there are will sea serpents, we will recieve more serpents to be adopted out.
