To breed two serpents, you must have a shell or two lying around for you to use. There are a few different kinds of shells. Their info is in the table below, along with prices and shell availability:

The Gold Shell is used for a single breeding between 2 serpents. It is the most common shell. 500 PG (4 available; 1 on hold)
The Silver Shell is used to get twins from the breeding pair. Twins will look the same, with the same genetics code. Can also be used for any serpent out of AP! 1000 PG (2 available)
The Blue Shell is used to get a guarenteed boy from the breeding pair. Can also be used for any serpent out of AP! 1500 PG (1 available)
The Green Shell is used to get a known mutation out of the breeding pair. Can also be used for any serpent out of AP! 2000 PG (0 available)
The Silver/Green Shell is used to get mutated twins out of the breeding pair. Twins will look the same, with the same genetics code. To be won in special events (0 available)
The Silver/Blue Shell is used to get twin boys from the breeding pair. Twins will look the same, with the same genetics code. To be won in special events (0 available)
The Green/Blue Shell is used to get a mutated boy out of the breeding pair. To be won in special events (0 available)

To buy a shell, PM ElemrntalParadise saying what colour shell you'd like!

To get shells, you will have to wait to be awarded one at random, or compete in special events. Special events may be things like a serpent lottery or competitions held in an arena(I need to rent someone's arena until the serpentry makes enough PG for me to buy one). Soon there will be a page with a tally of who has shells, and how many they do.

Once you have a token, you have to choose what two serpents you'd like to breed. Requests must be sent in before the date specified on the main page, the cycle will start soon after.

Choosing the female. Any adult female can breed. You may breed one of your own or reverse breed with another player's, with their permission, of course.

Choosing the male. You may use a male of your own, or another player's, providing you have been given their permission. You can contact the owner to see if the male is available. Check out the Stud Registry for available males. You might have to pay a breeding fee.

After you have chosen the breeding pair, and have permission from the owner(s) involved, PM ElementalParadise with the names of the two serpents that are to breed. Requests must be recieved within the specified time, otherwise the breeding will be put on hold and the baby will be born the cycle after. When the serpentling is born, it will be placed in the Hatchling Pool. I trust that you will be honest, and if you say a player has allowed you to breed with their serpent, I will believe you.

One baby is born from each breeding, unless you have a shell for twins, with or without being mutated or male. The traits of your new serpent depend on the parents' genetics, and sometimes chance. Females are more common than makes, and without a shell with blue in it, it is highly unlikely that the result is a male. Females must wait a cycle before they can breed, but males can be put up for stud at birth.

I don't keep track of pedigrees on other owners' serpents, so you can inbreed. There are no negative effects. Though I do suggest you keep track of your own serpents' pedigrees, even if it is only for fun =)
