Urs Mahal
The stage of famous building of Urs Mahal at Hazrat Nizamuddin New Delhi plays a very important role to propagate the mission of peace and harmony of the Sufi Saints. Two Urs Celebrations are held twice a year regularly in the memory of the Great Sufi Saint of India Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia and Hazrat Amir Khusro the great poet saint at Urs Mahal which was constructed under the auspicious patronage of His Holiness Shamsul Mashaikh Hazrat Pir Zamin Nizami Syed Bokhari, the Ancestral Direct Descendant and Sajjadanashin of Hazrat Khawaja Nizamuddin Aulia.The Urs Mahal was inaugurated by Dr.Radha Krishnan, Vice President of India in 1962 in the presence of the first Prime Minister of India Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru and Bakshi Ghulam Mohammed, the then Prime Minister of Jammu & Kashmir. Almost all the Presidents of India, Vice Presidents of India, Prime Ministers of India, Speakers of Lok Sabha, Lt.Governors of Delhi, Chief Ministers of Delhi and other states, Union Ministers and Ambassadors of Muslim Countries have visited the Urs Mahal and the Dargah Sharif in past on the occasions of Urs Mubarak and they have paid their respectful tributes to the saints. |
