William Turner was born to a poor family, never knowing his father. From an early
age Will would work the streets selling matchsticks or anything else his family
could afford to lose.
By the age of six Will began to work in the local ports, assisting the harbormaster,
unloading ships or any other tasks he could manage. Three years later Wills mother
died of tuberculosis, taking pity on him the captain of an anchored trades hip allowed
Will passage to the New World to restart his life.
Near the voyages end pirates attacked the vessel. The ship was devastated and none of
the crew survived, none except for young Will Turner, who was rescued and taken aboard
the HMS Dauntless. The Dauntless sailed steadfast to Jamaica, with Will under the
charge of the new governors daughter, Elizabeth.
Once they reached their destination of Port Royal, Will was placed under the custody
of James Brown, the local blacksmith, with whom he was placed under an apprenticeship.
"Ther be more to this son o' Bootstrap Bill than meets the eye, matey!
He's sharp of wit and weilds a sharper blade! So step lively!"
