Bucky, the Rally Parrot, leads the fans in a cheer.

Introducing the Rally Parrot

For those of you who took in the action between the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres this past playoffs, you would have noticed the new addition to the Pittsburgh organization. Bucky, or the Rally Parrot, the nickname given to him by the fans; is the two year old Macaw parrot who appeared on screen at PNC Park to help get the home fans pumped out. Macaw parrots are very good at talking and Bucky is no exception. When it comes to getting the crowd into it, he's the real Macaw. Bucky has been well trained and can recited many different phrases and cheers.
"He was awesome!" Outfielder Dennis Donnelly had to say of Bucky after game 4 "The cheers were pretty cool, but we couldn't believe it when he sang 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame' during the seventh inning stretch."
"We all loved him," Pitcher Hughie Waters commenting on Bucky, "A bunch of us wanted to meet him after the game and give him crackers, but then we thought 'Hmm, a parrot this famous doesn't eat crackers, he probably eats caviar or something.' What do parrots eat anyway?"
The Pirates went 2-0 with Bucky leading the cheers.
