Padres HHASL's Best in 2006

Anaheim, CA - It turned out to be a very interesting series indeed.  In a playoffs where so many of the series had to be decided in the final game, it was only fitting that the World Series keep up with the trend as it went to the maximum 7 games, and it was the team that had the didn't have the home field disadvantage that prevailed as every game was won the road team.
The San Diego Padres captured their first ever HHASL World Series title yesterday after disposing of the Anaheim Angels in the seventh and deciding game by a score of 8-3.

majors, also had a surge on offense with Harry Clapinski and Garland Greene leading the way. "There's nothing much else you can say about them (the pitching), they keep us in so many games this year," said clean up hitter Greene "It was awesome that we were able to help out in this series."
The Padres went into Anaheim down 3-2 in the series but were still able to prevail thanks to a Garland Greene gram slam and a great pitching performance by Spider Benson in game 6 to tie the series at 3. Game 7 had the Padre hitters score all the runs they needed in first inning. The final out was recorded as Lou Butler got Tex Farrell to ground out to shortstop Ernie Sowders.
San Diego joins elite company with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Seattle Mariners as being the only teams to win the World Series.
