Brady Walks To New HHASL
Record

Brady watches Alexander's 7th inning pitch sail
in off the mark to help him set the HHASL walks record.

Sept 16, 2006.
Houston, TX - The HHASL base on balls record
didn't last as long as Chicago White Sox outfielder Tink Foster
would have hoped. The record of 117 walks which Foster set last
season was broken last night by Pittsburgh Pirates left fielder
Johnny A. Brady as he drew his 118th walk of the season off
Houston Astros pitcher Farmer Alexander in the 7th inning.
"I don't really think the feeling has set in yet," an exhausted
Brady said after the game "I think that I'll have more time to
think about it after the season is done. Winning and
getting into the playoffs is the top priority right now."
The game was a wild affair with the Pirates coming out on top
13-12, featuring 3 lead changes and a combined 34 hits between
the two teams. Don White was named the High Heat Player of the
Game after going 4 for 4 with 4 RBI's and his 25th homerun of
the season
When Brady was asked if he knew he was closing in on the record,
he answered, "Of course I did. That's all that Andy (Kirby) has
been talking about these days. He's a guy who likes keeping up
with the stats and milestones and he likes to make sure
everybody is aware of them. Man, I'd hate to be a pitcher taking
a no-hitter into the ninth cause I know he'd bring it up and
jinx me or something."
