   with Ham Slices and Bratwurst

Sauerkraut

1 jar sauerkraut
½ pound bacon
1 cup onions
ham slices
salt, pepper, garlic, bay leaves
1 Tablespoon butter




 

Rinse the sauerkraut by adding water and squeezing the kraut dry. Save water from rinse.

Season one large can of kraut with salt, pepper, garlic, and bay leaves.

Add a little water and cook mixture over low heat.

Fry bacon pieces and one cup of onions.

Add sauerkraut water (from the rinse).

When bacon and onions are brown, add the mixture to kraut and add butter.

Cook on low for 30 or more minutes, making sure water barely covers all kraut.

Add ham slices until warm.

 

Bratwurst

Boil Bratwurst in 1 can of beer and water.

Do not pierce the skin.

Fry bratwurst until it is brown.
