Pirate PalateCorn Pone Pie

Cody Person

1 pound hamburger or deer meat
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
1 medium onion
1 green pepper (optional)



1 package yellow cornbread mix
4 Tablespoons chili powder
2 cans light red kidney beans
4 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Tablespoons brown sugar


 

Put olive oil in pot to make chili in and warm. 

Dice onion and green pepper and sauté in pot until done.

Add hamburger and cook until done.

Add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and kidney beans.

Season to taste and put in casserole dish.

Make up corn bread according to a recipe or instructions on package and add an even layer of batter on top of casserole.

Bake at 375°F for about 20 minutes or till cornbread is done.
