Pirate PalateMom's Spaghetti

1 large can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
1 green bell pepper
1 packet Italian dressing mix
1 yellow onion
5 pounds ground beef
2 cloves garlic


16 ounces fresh mushrooms
1 Tablespoon sugar (optional)
12 ounces noodles
1 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon cooking oil
1 package shredded cheddar cheese
½ stick butter
grated parmesan cheese

 

Sauce

Brown ground beef in a 5-quart dutch oven.  Drain off any grease. 

Slice bell pepper, mushrooms, and onion. Crush garlic. 

Add all ingredients to the ground beef. 

Cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally.  

The sauce is done when onions are cooked.

 

Noodles

Boil 4 quarts of water. 

Add salt and cooking oil. 

Add noodles and return to a boil. 

Cook uncovered approximately 12 minutes, or until tender. 

Remove from heat and drain. 

Return to pot and add butter.

 

Serving

Put some noodles on a plate or in a bowl and cover with shredded cheese. 

Add sauce. 

Top with Parmesan cheese.
