Plot Outline (POTC 3) and general spoilers
Not much is known by me about this one. Chow Yun Fat will be playing the Chinese pirate Cheung Pow Tsai, as we know, so one can only assume Jack'll get himself mixed up in some trouble with Tsai's lot. An e-mail was sent to Terry Rossio concerning the name of the film and he responded that the considered ones are "World's End", "Calypso's Fury", and "Uncharted Waters". Calypso was a sea nymph in Greek mythology, daughter of Atlas, according to Homer's Odyssey. Atlas, of course, was the titan whom Zeus condemned to hold the weight of the world, quite literally, on his shoulders. So, Calypso detained Odysseus on her island for seven years, and offered to make him immortal if he stayed with her, but he declined. Rossio says he doubts any of these names will be picked, though "Calypso's Fury" is his favorite. At first, I wondered if the ties of immortality offerings and seven years spent on an island would have something to do with the plot, but when Rossio says he doubts they'll use the name, my thoughts are kinda dashed.
