Rides 1-3
Rides 4-6
This year was a
big one for me and, I hope, a memorable one for all my friends. The
Pirate Ride series was something I wanted to create for quite some time,
but if you had asked me a year ago what my planned "infusion" to the local
scene would be I could not have told you. Now, in hindsight, I look
back on what a little passion and energy manifested and can hardly believe
it myself. I'm am just lucky that there are plenty dudes and dudettes
in these parts who ride simply because they love to ride, no schmoes, few
egos, just sisters and bros. Perhaps the best part of this winter's
activities were the relationships that stemmed from all of our fellowship.
I was given the opportunity to spend time with folks that I had only
spoken with in passing, able to come together around a common goal, and see
buds who would have otherwise been busy with other obligations. Someday
when all the work of the world is behind us, and when the competitive fire
of youth has dwindled from a blaze to a single glowing coal, I look forward
to sitting on a front porch, sipping a cool beverage and looking back on these
crazy times with smiles and laughter. The days have grown too mundane
for my spirit of late, and so I must fly. An annual summer escape which
I must exercise before accessories begin to exercise me. I have shrugged
off any fears or feelings of responsibility that threatened to clip my wings,
for I know that all must fly there own route. I hope that all my friends
will continue to find happiness in their days, be it on their bikes or otherwise.
When you feel the summer sun beginning to wane and fall threatens to
knock on the door, look to the east and I won't be far behind. If it
is right we shall do it again, if it is otherwise so shall we be. I
look forward to another season, but first I look forward to tomorrow. Here
are some memories of days past. I will see you all in days to come.
