| A Sixth Finger | ||||||||

| This is a fun toy. It is a sixth finger that was built for someone I knew who had their real 6th finger removed shortly after they were born (freakdom is such a neglected art). It consists of various small hinges from a collapsible umbrella (-use Totes Umbrellas -they really build them well, with good stainless steal hinges). The frame work around the hand consists of bent and soldered pieces of copper wire. The whole things fits comfortably onto one's hand with no straps or securing bands. (sorry I don't have a picture of the form) The 6th finger is controlled by little mechanism behind the hand that is hooked up to one of the real flesh fingers. When this real finger move to close its grip, the mechanical 6th finger does the same motion. Fun to stir tea with it at parties. |
