A HOBBIT ON A HARLEY?
I think it may have begun in the fifties. At the impressionable age of 6 a friend of my fathers pulled up on an old Harley. It was beat up, in sad shape, no paint, but purred like a Tiger! I can still remember his face beaming as he caressed the throttle and made that Tiger roar! I sat on the porch for quite awhile after he left remembering that sound.
At the age of 16 I met the Flat track racer sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Ventura, California. He was the incomperable Duane Keeter. Well this gave me opportunities to ride around the block on his sporster. However most of the time was spent on his brothers Suzuki 55. Needless to say, it was great fun!
Years passed and I rode a couple machines. A Yamaha 100, a Honda CB200 what I could afford to own you understand. Besides I had no need for a bigger bike. I rode around town and mainly to work. I still feel as I did then, if you ride any two wheeler you belong!
In 1997 the Lord blessed me with my hog. I now know what the expression "If I have to explain...You wouldn't understand" means. I have never experienced a ride like this. Since May 97 I have put over *50,000 miles on my scoot and every one was shear joy! I gave my car to my son and now ride the 55 mile commute to work on the hog. Rain, fog, sunshine, cold doesn't matter as long as I can ride it I will...
*I turned 50K passing a semi on a two lane road doing 85.... Safely of course!
*100K and still going strong. Bike needs some spit and polish. But I bought it to ride, not wash! Besides, it gets washed in the rainy season. Hehe
*110K Sad to say the scoot is down in my garage. It sprung an oil leak! You might say "So what, it's a Harley" but it just aint so. The new Harleys don't leak oil like the old ones. While it's down I'm adding a few things I feel it need like an Air Horn, more lights, and new LED Turn signals. All for safety you understand.

Well that's about it, Keep the rubber side down, see you on the road!

Pippen
