A Brief Biography of James Pipp's Photographic/Film history

James first started to become  professionally interested in Filmmaking  and Photography after nearly 20 years of  what he calls 'A seriously obsessional  pastime'.
A largely self-taught all -round media  production freelancer, he formalised his  experience by studying for a BA (English) at university where he completed a double  major in Film & Video and Creative  Writing graduating with a Distinction and  a list of prizes, awards, and a promising  publishing career as a Poet and an  exhibiting Video Artist. James was a  pioneer of the new Digital Media during  his student days, working with computers  such as the Amiga, and the Fairlight  Video Instrument

In parallel with James' fascination with  female beauty, he explored another  subject of deep ongoing inner exploration  - namely MYSTICISM. A keen practicioner  of Tai Chi and Yoga, and a teacher of  Meditation to beginers at his local Yoga  Ashram, James' images often evoke his  inner experiences.
He created a commercially available  Meditation Video which recieved positive  sales and visual acclaim produced by Robert Eichenberger of City of Lights Multi-Media Productions.

'Flight to  Relaxation' has also been screened in   Australian cinemas and Art Festivals.
He was awarded various production grants  to produce Independent Film and Video  Productions and to persue the expensive  medium of Video Art.
Although his art achieved critical  successes, it did not generate nearly   enough income, which prompted him to take  up any media related employment 'to pay  the rent'

He soon found himself totally immersed in  being a very busy Freelance Photographer.  He had his own studio in the attic of a  beautiful Heritage building in what was  fast becoming Trendy Fremantle.
Many of his Film contacts meant that he  was creating portfolios for aspiring  actresses and models. This resulted in  what is still an ongoing exploration of  mostly Monochrome Beauty/Decor  photograhy.
For the past four or five years James has  been augmenting his often piecemeal  income from his artistic pursuits by  Teaching English as a Second Language. He  has worked and travelled widely within  Asia during this time - which has also  resulted in an ongoing collection of  Travel  Photographs from Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Vietnam, and Australia
