Counts Description
TWIST DROP CROSS POINT TURN
1 Step forward with left and raise up on balls of both feet
2 Lower by bending knees (drop) as you twist to the right
3 Twist to the left to return to center as you raise up on balls of feet
4 Settle onto left foot flat on
5 Point toe to side
6 Cross and step on right in front of left
7 Point left toe to the side
8 Do a part of a Monterey turn by pulling right shoulder back to spin on right foot ½ turn but do not put the left foot down. Bring it up to a tap with a bent knee (Another acceptable way to do this is to take 2 quick steps in the turn on &7 with the left and right)
POINT, SKATERS TURN, PADDLE TURN
1 Point the left toe out
2 Bring it in
3 Step to the left with the left foot turned out
4 Do a half turn (skaters turn) on the left foot dragging the right toe in an arc along the floor as the turn is made
5 Step on right foot turned out
&6-7 Paddle turn to the right by keeping right foot in place and making a full turn while stepping left, right, left
8 Continue turning ½ turn to the right as you step
Since this is a one wall dance let's think direction here. Front, right wall, left wall, rear wall. When you start the turn on count 3 you are facing the right wall. When you start the turn on 5 you are facing the left wall. By the time you have made 1 ½ turns through &6, 7,8 you will be facing the right wall.
FORWARD, BACK, FORWARD & SLIDE
1 Hop forward onto left bringing right to tap just behind left
2 Then back onto right bringing left to right with a tap
3& Then forward on to left with right together tapped, step right
4 Slide onto left foot to side left
Note You are now facing front
5 Hold or draw out the slide
6&7 Step together, right, side left
8 Tap right foot beside left
Note Body now facing slightly toward left wall
BACK BODY ROLL SCOOTS TAP TURN
1-2 Bring the right foot back and lean backwards or body roll as you take full weight on that foot
& Scoot backwards by bringing left to right
3-4 Moving right back and take weight on left, bringing your body forward and take weight on right foot
&5 Scoot back (but don't take weight this time), tap the right foot back
6 Step forward on right foot
Note You are facing left wall
7 Bring left knee up and make a ¼ turn to the left on your right foot
8 Step down with your left foot as you make another ½ turn to the left to face the front again
SAILOR STEPS NORMAL OR SYNCOPATED
1 Side step to the right
2&3 Sailor step (cross behind with left, side right, in place left)
4&5 Repeat on the other side (cross behind right, side left, in place right)
6-8 Repeat 2-5
Note You can also double up the timing 1&2&3&4&5&6&7&8&1. Some of the song feels like you should only do the regular sailors mentioned in the 5th count of 8 and other times it feels like it should be syncopated. Syncopate in the chorus and regular time the verse
HIP WALKS FORWARD
1 Swing your left hip forward as you tap left foot
2 Step left
3-4 wing right hip forward, tap right foot
Note All these move forward
5 Step right
6 Swing left hip forward and tap left foot
7 Big step back with left foot
8 Bring right back to normal standing position feet shoulders width apart
ROBOT
1 Bring right hand up bent at the elbow
2 Turn body toward right by moving at the waist, feet stay forward
3 Bend forward at the waist while bringing right hand back and down some and left hand forward bent at the elbow and turn your head to the left to look front
4 Hold
5 Bring left hand back letting the arm stay bent and although the arm stays in the same position it swings from the shoulder at the same time do the same thing with the right arm but it swings forward. At the same time move the head ¼ rotation to the right so that you look down and to the right wall
6 Bring left hand forward, right arm back, and look left (front wall)
7 Bring right hand forward, left arm back, look right
8 Bring right hand back, left arm forward, look left (front)
TRAVOLTA 2-STEP, SHOULDER TOUCH ARM CIRCLE
1& Kick left foot forward, bring left together taking weight on the balls of both feet
2& Knee pop by quickly spreading feet apart to take weight on both feet, bring feet together taking weight on balls of both feet as you turn ¼ turn to the left
3&4& Repeat the 1&2& (kick, together, apart, together) but without a ¼ turn
5& Touch left shoulder with right hand, touch right shoulder with right hand
6 Roll the right arm around to the left and up
7&8 Double roll arm to the right as it comes down to your side
You can do a single roll if the double is too hard
