Prior to 1801 the Tax Lists were divided by Districts. Beginning in 1802 the Taxables were divided by Companies. Absalom is found in Capt. Day's Company......except one year it became Capt. Morrow's Company but back to Capt. Day's Company the following year.
Absalom is also listed on the 1807 Taxables, but the film quality was too poor to post.
The summary for the year was as follows:
"List of Taxable Property amounting to 192,446 acres of land, 604 white polls, 1170 black polls, 5 stud horses, 7 cotton machines, 16 retailers of spirits and 10 retailers of goods was exhibited in Open Court and ordered to be recorded for the year 1807"
