The waitress seated them, and brought their drinks while they poured over the menus. They chatted idly for a while, talking about siblings, pets, and friends. When the waitress returned John ordered a half rack of ribs, and a large order of home fries. The waitress then looked at Tatem expectantly and almost lost her gum when she ordered the exact same thing as her companion. As the waitress walked away John looked at his date in awww, Girl are you taking some of that home, for lunch for a few days? he laughed.

Hell no, its ribs and home fries, do you think youre the only one who can eat? she cocked an eyebrow at him, Actually Ill probably take some home, but the point is, its good food, and if its a problem Ill pay half. Dutch is always so much fun.

Hey now Tatem, I never said anything about Dutch I asked you out, the price isnt a problem. Im just not used to girls eating that much anymore I guess. I think they all have this thing with blowing away, or trying to look good at some weird expense.

Yeah well, you know I dont work out that much, Darce, Cat, and I go jogging on Monday and Friday; do yoga Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, then Saturday and Sunday we usually go swimming or something. She paused in thought, That is quite a bit isnt it?

Not at all, you do it to stay healthy, but you still eat, and I have a feeling you dont go to the gym because of all the ogling. Its not like you starve yourself to look good, not that youd need to, he stammered, I mean, you look good, you wouldnt have toCrap Cena, youre a very attractive woman Tatem.

A slight blush crept into her face as she glanced down, So John your not so bad yourself, and are you gonna wear those stunner shades all night?

The waitress interrupted the conversation when she delivered their food, robotically telling them to enjoy their meal. They looked at each other and grinned as they each dug into the massive plates of ribs.  After a few minutes of silence save for the occasional clinking utensil, or glass being sat down, they came up for air. Tatem decided that it would be better if she didnt finish and had the waitress take her plate. John followed her lead, and relinquished his plate as well. He put his elbows on the table and leaned forward shortening the space between them.

So where to now, its still early is there anything youd like to do? He asked as he paid the bill for dinner.

Well, why dont we go down to the Arch, and take a walk, there is an ice cream shop near there, we could get a cone, and then take a stroll. I mean after all how often are you in St. Louis at night and not working?

That is a grand idea milady. He offered his arm, in a theatrical gesture as they walked towards the waiting limo. They once again gave the driver the desired destination; this time the energy in the car was a lot less nervous, and tense. It instead was filled, with the familiar electricity, of comfort, and ease. They came to a smooth stop in front of the ice cream shop, after exiting the car he asked the driver to please wait there for them, that theyd return after they took a walk. Tatem smiled at him, hanging back so he could open the door for her without having to ask. She entered the shop with John directly behind her. He automatically put his hand on the small of her back, subtly guiding her to the counter.
