Theres Always Time

Theres always time to hope,
To pray that youll win the race,
To ask that youll get there on time,

Theres always time to love,
To fully understand who your friends are,
To finally tell someone how you feel,

Theres always time to do what you want,
To watch TV or listen to the radio,
To spend a day outside underneath the warm sun,

Theres always time to help others,
To bring a smile to their face,
To care for them when theyre in need,

Theres always time to do the little things,
To sweep the floor or dust the chairs,
To pick up your things and to do your homework,

Theres always time to for fun,
To hang out with friends and watch a movie,
To go to the zoo to visit our most ancient ancestors,

Theres always time for friends,
To help make them laugh,
To listen to their problems,

Theres always time to read,
To curl up in front of a fire with a good book,
To stop for a moment and read a short poem,

Theres always time for life,
Even though you feel like theres no time at all
                            A Book

A book that holds your dreams,
Your hopes and your fears,
A book that captures your heart,
Looking into it and holding its thoughts,
A book that you can open up to,
More than to family member or even a friend,
A book that collects your thoughts,
When you cant keep them in order,
A book that you write in whenever you need,
Holding within its pages your entire life,
A book that tells an untold story,
An autobiography of an interesting person,
A book that has no boundaries,
No ceiling to restrict it,
A book that is not meant to be read aloud,
But only inside your mind,
A book that captures your life

                       Thirty Hour Famine

Hunger strikes you like knives piercing your heart,
The feeling of emptiness empowering your body,
No food, only liquids help the feeling pass,
The noise growls from deep inside,
Your stomach wishes for food,
Your heart prays for the less fortunate,
Thirty hours without food,
With no where else to turn you face each other,
Youre told to sleep but you cant,
Your body threatens to shut down but you press on,
You keep working for them,
To raise the money for the less fortunate,
No matter how bad it hurts you keep working,
It feels like a lifetime but its only thirty hours.
Thirty hours that now come to an end,
Hunger subsided after nourishment is restored,
Weve met the challenge together as a whole,
The goal is finally reached,
The look of the faces hurt more than hunger,
30 hours turns into the best 30 hours of your life
                           Moby Dick

A man who was forced to a peg,
After a whale took off his leg,

He became obsessed with the whale,
And no matter what the cost - he would not bail

Captain Ahab was his name,
And chasing Moby Dick was his game,

At the end Moby Dick had taken his toll,
As the seas continued to roll
                      A Women's Fight

Women who learned to stand up for themselves,
Unafraid to express their emotions,
Women who finally said that theyd had enough,
Begging to be treated as equals,
Women who met together,
In the small town of Senecca Falls,
Women who asked for the right,
But were denied,
Women who fought for their passions,
Turned down by the members of the male race,
Women who ran the household,
Told that they couldnt handle the real world,
Women who became leaders,
Rather than followers,
Women who made the world what it is today,
Fighting for every one of their rights,
Women who finally changed the world
