The first Perth Street gig, review written by Lynzi Fairfield independant of PipeDreams.

The Perth street gig started off with flying colours nothing went wrong. The promotion of the gig must have gone well because quite a lot of people came mainly people from the 4ft fingers gig and loads of people from Wilberforce College. The headlining band Tripswitch came with all there equipment like the drum kit which Dom was drooling over and a sound technician who really helped all the bands to get all the sounds great.

When everything was set up the people came in and settled down (as far as punks can settle down) and the first band mourning wood started. Mourning wood managed to get the crowds support a lot because they were having fun. Boob the guitarist was wearing a hulk Hogan suit that he looked very "stunning" in as far as Lycra goes. They played well for one of their first gigs, their songs were upbeat and lively if you like hardcore punk. They had a competition to win a large can of beans for the best dancer, which Jaquesy and Dave fought over. In the end Dave won and the beans fed the children for weeks. Everyone thought there set was great because the band were really funny to watch and hear.

The second band on was old skool or no skool who are a lot of peoples from college favourite band of the night. Despite Dave's bass amp breaking, Sam's bass drum pedal breaking twice. Robs guitar strap falling apart and having to fit it together with tape and then it falling apart again it went well. But that didn't bother the crowd because we all love um' and think they played well despite the technical difficulties. They played their classics, Night-Shaded and Perfect day, which every one loves to join in singing with. Quiet a lot of people got up to dance for them as they always get people going with there upbeat-punk-pop-emo-melodic-core music.

After no-skools performance Tripswitch came up to play all of us never hearing them before thought they would be just another metal band but we were very very wrong. They had a lot of twist to them really they was a cross between Pitchshifter and kill switch engaged, which was very different to a lot of bands sounds. They have a lot of cool drum beats and funky mixed techno music in the background. The singer was very good even though at first u didn't know whether he belong to the band or not because he didn't look the part for a metal band singer he didn't have dreads and holey jeans which is a nice change to see. Every one like them because they got the most people dancing and head bobbing ration was hitting the roof every one looked like pigeons. They had a lot of good bass and guitar riffs, which really made a good effect.
