Bulls will trade Pippen to Rockets Chicago will sign, then dealhim for Rogers, 2nd-round pick
HOUSTON, Jan. 18 With Michael Jordan gone,
the breakup of the rest of the Chicago Bulls will
be complete by the end of the week. Scottie
Pippen will be traded from the Bulls to the
Houston Rockets, and Steve Kerr will be dealt to
the San Antonio Spurs as soon as the lockout
ends. The Bulls will sign Pippen to a deal worth
$67.2 million for five years with an additional
$15 million in incentives before trading him.
Chicago will get forward Roy Rogers and a
second-round draft pick in return, said numerous
league sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.
PIP'S opinion
The 33-year-old Pippen has been with Chicago since the 1987-88 season
when he was drafted out of Central Arkansas. Last year, he averaged 19.1
points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
The seven-time All-star forward is considered one of the top three free
agents up for grabs as NBA teams prepare to open training camps delayed
by the 6 1/2-month lockout.
Pippen should be in uniform for the Rockets when they play an exhibition
game against San Antonio on Saturday.
"I am excited about my new career in Houston, and even though everything
seems to be changing, I hope Bulls fans everywhere will understand that it is
time for a new era to begin in Chicago," Pippen said.
"Chicago has been my home for nearly half my life, and with family and
friends here I will always treat the city as home. I only hope the city of
Chicago will continue to treat me as one of their own. Thanks for all the
great memories."
Well Pippen Fans its finally gonna happen sources say that Scottie Pippen Will be signed by Jerry Krause then dealt to the Houston Rockets. Personally I think this is a great team for pip to go to, but it seriously breaks my heart. Those ediots in Chicago are STUPID. Thats pretty much all I can say about this, other then GOOD LUCK TO PIP IN HOUSTON WHERE HE WILL TEAR SHIT UP! AND WHERE YES U HEARD ME RIGHT PIP AND THE ROCKETS WILL WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP. bottom line...
