AMERICAN PIONEER
TIMING...IS EVERYTHING.

In January 2002, I was enjoying life and looking forward to a bright future.  Within months, my significant relationship abruptly ended. Lost in a world of confusion, I knew within myself that the most important facet was the display to my daughters of the role model that they deserved in the face of family crisis.  Somewhat distanced from my own father, I began to write of my experiences. I was a father whom held the family entity as precious, and her public adultry had robbed that from me. Over twelve months, I learnt to deal with my role as a father, and as a writer.

In January 2004 a buddy in Cambridge, England who had read my material,  suggested I submit a story for an international fiction competition.  At his urging,  my story went in. Before announcing the winners,  the publishing house were calling me back,  talking about expanding my story.

In April,  I risked it all and flew out to the West Coast to meet with the creative department.  Within weeks of my return to Australia,  an opportunity arose that I could not pass up.  In the wee hours of a June morning,  I made a call and spoke with the CEO.  By the end of the call,  I had a position as a staff writer.

Its a long way from Brisbane Australia to San Diego California.  The paperwork trail has been nothing short of time consuming,  but the vision of "the new world"  has made me...
