This is a very well designed and concived medium tank, not nothing astonishing, but quite a good piece of work for internal demand and a job to do for Italian weapons manufacturers.
The C1 Ariete was first half of a contract between the Italian government with italian industries for the production of a Tank and a tank-hunter named B-1. Iveco (FIAT) was in charge of the B-1 production, and MELARA, because of its better experience in subject of heavy weaponry, got the C-1 project.
Its angulous look confirms his steel's basic stucture, reinforced at the front with strat armour. It's equipped with an Office-Galileo TURMS OG14L3 fire control system, with stabilized thermical and optical sights, laser telemeter, and environmental sensors. These connected system produce very good fire control outcome.
