{rollThe EEUU Army ordered United Defense LP the development of a light tank, as replacement for the frustraded M-551 Sheridan, for use of the Airborne Divisions taking part in airdroppings from the C-130 Hercules. The result was the XM8 Armoured Gun System, of which there were 6 protoypes built in late 1994. The order was of 237 units, and we don't know if the order is completed nor the production has stopped.

As a light tank, it has no the powerful punch of his fellow teammates like the Abrams, but it's expected to perform quite well with his automatically fed 105 mm rifled Tank gun, with 21 rounds ready to use, enabling a high fire rate in first engagement. Gunner and Commander have stabilised day-night sights, and the commander can aim and shoot too. Also is fully NBC protected, stabilised, and can be fitted with three different armour levels. o}
