{rolAs an order by Argentina, the german company of Thyssen-Henschel designed and produced two vehicles for the Argentinian government, the TAM medium tank and the VCI Infantry combat vehicle. German companies didn't produce them in vast numbers, just the prototypes, sending them to Argentina for the volume production. TAMSE undertook the production for more than 350 vehicles of both types. Both vehicles used some parts of the Marder1 ICV. With the german chassis, TAMSE developed some variants for the Argentinian army, like the VCTR recovery vehicle, one 155 mm self-propelled gun, and a MRLS (Multiple Rocket Launch System).
The TAM fits a 105 rifled main gun, NBC system, and auxiliary fuel tanks if provided. Thyssen Henschel has developed a newer version, the TH 301 tank, much improved, for export only.
