{rollo} This is the famous Swedish S-Tank, produced in the late 1950s by Bofors for the Swedish army. Production started in 1966, building a total of 300 until 1971.
The S-tank is only in service with the Swedish army, same as the Bofors BandKanon 155 mm self propelled artillery system, based in the S-tank chassis. This is a very original design, with no turret at all, the main gun mounted in the front hull, offering a very low profile and a hard to spot and hit target. The gun is aimed lowering and rising the suspension and moving the whole tank in traverse, and its authomatic loader allows a high fire rate. Also, the tank fits a flotation screen, prepared, it's fully anphybious an can sail at almost 4 mph.
Since its birth, has benn modified many times, improving the transmission, new engine, additional fuel tanks more longer autonomy, and a laser range-finder.
