{rollThe PT-76 is the grandfather of the amphybious russian and Chinese series. developed after the end of the IIWW, was acepted for service in 1950, and more than 7000 were built until the end of production in 1964. At first the PT-76 mounted a 76 mm gun like the late versions of M4 Shermans. The PT-76 B has a 76 mm D-56TS gun which is stabilised.

The PT-76 saw combat in Viet-Nam and Corea, but his relatively thin armour proved not to be good enough against the M47's and M48's guns. Standard equipment includes night vision equipment, some NBC, and additional fuel tanks. The PT-76 is fully amphybious, being propelled in water until 4 mph by a couple of water-jets mounted at the hull's rear.
