December 08, 2003 - Beta Season Ended, First Season Registration Open(posted by Celedor)
     The Beta Season ended with a victory by Oneill! For the better part of the season, finalist By2x had played through the league without a single loss. However, in a surprising turn of events Oneill went through the semi-finals to seal the win by beating By2x in the first 2 games of their best of three match. The staff at PSL would like to congratulate Oneill for a job well done! Incidentally, Oneill has also taken the initia tive and is forming a Philippine Team B to participate in the WGTour Nation Vs. Nation tournament.
     With the Beta Season ended, preparations for Season 1 are underway! We are currently accepting registrants for the first season. Registration instructions can be found in the Rules section of the site. We hope to see you in Season 1!

October 31, 2003 - Week Three nears its end (posted by Celedor)
     By2x continues his winning streak to dominate the Beta season of the PSL. Will he be able to make it to the finals without suffering a single loss? Meanwhile week 4 holds an interesting matchup: Oneill and Sushi_x are both quality Terrans who made it to the Philippine WCG National finals.
     After reviewing the results of the Beta, some changes are going to be implemented:

• Top 4 from the group will advance into the final round. The final round will be played on one night, so this is to check whether it is possible to get four people to meet at a given time.
• A scoring system will be implemented, and stadings will be based on the point system:
        - 3 points for each win.
        - 1 points for each loss.
        - 0 points for not playing.
  
• If a player fails to show for more than half his matches (discounting matches with disqualified players), he will automatically be disqualified, and barred from joining the succeeding 2 seasons of the PSL. Any submitted games with disqualified players will be considered null and worth no points. This measure is to prevent players from only playing games with certain people and then "quitting" afterwards.

     Jontaxx, one of the players decided not to continue due to a tight academic schedule.
     Standings: It seems that we are on a roll. After the match of By2x and Sushi_x, By2x is now leading our tournament with 4 wins and no loss. Still followed by O'neil. Waiting for the other players result. We will keep you posted.

     Calling Jontaxx, this is your last chance to play your scheduled games. Please coordinate with your opponents.
     Standings: After the match of By2x and CaP_xoG , By2x is now leading our tournament with 3 wins and no loss. Followed closely behind by O'neil. Replays will follow shortly.

     We are currently experiencing a slight delay with the games. Standings were already been updated. Oneill had already played 4 games with 3 wins and 1 loss. Closly behind him is By2x with 2 wins and no loss. We are still waiting for the other players to play.

October 24, 2003 - Standings Update and New Staff (posted by Celedor)
     The standings page has now been updated to accomodate some of the week two matches. The league administration understands that several matches have been delayed. We are working to add provisions in order to address this problem.
     In other news, we would like to welcome bubblegumcrisis onboard! He will be offering his assistance in managing the league homepage - expect this site to be updated more often.

October 19, 2003 - Week 1 Results (posted by Celedor)
     The first week of the Beta season is nearing its conclusion! Oneill blazes ahead with 2 wins against easy_target_ph and wgonzales[dC]. By2x is close behind with one win. The rest have yet to submit their results, so we will have to wait and see whether these two players keep their lead.
     On another note, you can now review match results and download replays from the Standings page by clicking on the results in the table.

October 18, 2003 - Beta Season Prize (posted by Celedor)
     Zero_McFly from the WCG Philippine Forums has pledged a 300Php Prepaid card as a prize to the winner of the Philippine Starcraft League Beta Season. We have not confirmed when or how the prize will be delivered, but stay tuned for more news.
