Moab, UT - Mountain Biking Mecca

Slideshow

<< Previous Next >>

Well, there you have it, a brief slideshow of the first of what is now an annual mountain biking event. For those of you who sat and waited patiently for all 10 slides to download to your pc through your modems...thanks. I think the pics are definitely worth the wait. Maybe they've even convinced some of you to experience Moab for yourselves. It'll definitely take your appreciation of mountain biking to a different level.
Coming from California and being newbies to mountain biking, we figured it would be cheaper and less hassle to rent bikes at Kaibab instead of flying our low-end bikes to Moab, UT. We flew into Salt Lake City Tuesday night. We drove to Moab on Wednesday; it was about a 3 hr drive. Upon arriving, we checked out Moab, found a place to set up camp and a place to rent our bikes. We rode Slick Rock on Thursday, hiked on Friday, then rode Porcupine Rim on Saturday. Sunday was going back to California day.

For 1998, we conquered the trails up in the Inyo National Forest and up in Mammoth mountain itself! The pics are in! 4th of July 1998 was a blast! Although the upper section of the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park was unrideable due to snow conditions, there was some excellent riding to be had at the lower elevations! Special thanks to Raymond for his patience, his positive outlook and most specially, for his financial support.
On behalf of Arnold, Raymond and Trygvie, I extend my thanks to you for taking time to check us out.
Until next time .... MABUHAY!
