New in CC08!

Kyaa! Where's Solstice??
Nah, that wasn't my initial reaction since I've already heard of the SB-Kikiam switch for this issue. Although I'm not sure as to what the reasons were, be assured that Solstice Butterfly is not lost to oblivion... or something like that.

Story and art by EA Damaso

As we saw in the last issue, Spot has given Airee a jingle bell! ...fine, kuliling... and a rather large one at that. In order for Airee to remove the bell, she has to serve Spot eight times -- the number of golden balls she attempted to steal.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Poppy is intent on finding Airee. And when he did, Spot was there to face him. Spot placed Airee and the frozen Polaris and Butler into some portal. And with Poppy, being the reckless desperate and frustrated sheriff he is, attacks and finds himself back in headquarters.

Original Concept: Alfredo
Story & Art(kikiam & people): Taga-kanal
Art(squidball & fishball) and colors: Taga-ilog
Flats: Evil Dhex

What would you expect from Kubori Kikiam? Absolutely senseless yet absolutely funny! Well, not really that senseless. Believe it or not, Kubori has a real storyline and not just adorably profane kikiams and fishballs fighting. For more info, visit their website in their new URL
For this issue, it's all about spiders: Benjo's fighting spider, Manny's delicies, and Dodon's disgust. A few [okay, okay, a lot!] quotes from 'The Art of War', and a cyborg spider brings the fishballs to battle against the kikiams [once again]. Attack? uhm... more like kick-the-bucket for the spider and hit-the-bucket for Ralf [at least hindi sa toilet!].

Story by James L. Palabay
Art by Elmer A. Damaso

A mysterious voice from the darkness of the forest haunts Diwa ... until finally HE appears. Who, you may ask? It's Kumalarong! the one-eyed black uhm... thing... who claims to be some king of the underwold [na hindi king] and looks like the "ablublublublu" guy in that isurance company commercial. Wahahah and then Diwa absorbs him in the jewelled thingie on her arm.
Meanwhile, Jun struggles with himself with the question: to call or not to call Clarissa. Weh, and you think he's successful?? Nope. Ka-torpehan takes over. But before he got to cough up enough courage to dial again, the phone rang.

Story and art by Taga-Ilog

*klingkling* The stuffed animal... i really can't tell if it's a bear or a fox or something else... anyway... IT mysteriously appears everywhere, showing Mina images of those she unknowingly hurt since she left to be a Manunubos. Though it was just a dream [malamang!], the IT sure tells one hell of a bitter truth.
Mina wakes up to calls of an unfamiliar name in an unfamiliar place. Once fully awakened, she is introduced to Iyannah, a young girl who has the mark of a Mandirigmang Esclabo, and Mariko.

Taga-Ilog on How We Draw 8

Sir Ilog now discusses all about Indies. No, not islands or anything like that. 'Indies' are 'Independent Comics'. I suppose that explains everything, right? Using the skills you've learned from the past How We Draw articles [drawing, writing, coloring/effects, etc], we are now taught how to Copyright, photocopy, size reduction, and compile your work so that the pages appear in the correct order and is ready for mass production.

Noogies from a Cute Little Dead Girl: Lenore
by Evil Dex

This is such a cute book! I want one!! Weheheheh Morbid and twisted as the theme may be, Lenore just captures our hearts and... sticks kitchen knives into it... hehehe nah, she already did that to her suitor. Roman Dirge sure has caught my attention... ohohoho next target...

Itchyworms: Little Monsters Under Your Bed
Makiking Ensemble: Medyo Modern
I hope you forgive me for not writing anything of the music review. It's because if I did, I'll end up just rewriting the whole thing already. I mean, It's... nice and short and to the point as it is already... so... that's it. ; )
