We first met Ritz at a greyhound meet and greet at an area pet store. He was very shy and remained in the background until we started petting some greyhounds he was hiding behind. Wanting the same attention, he stuck his head out into the open, begging to be petted. From our first eye contact with him, we knew he was the one for us!
Ritz is a calm dog and rests most of the time. However, he has two daily playful streaks and is so much fun to play "hide and seek" with in the house. Besides running, his favorite playful thing to do is to roo (howl) when we start singing.
Greyhounds make wonderful pets after their racing careers are over. Although we do not personally condone the dog racing industry, we wanted to provide a loving home for at least one desevering greyhound.
