Nate Moddison is excited to be apart of the Pinnacle Percussion Ensemble. Starting an Independent Winter Ensemble in the Northwest has always been a dream of his and Robert Groves. Seeing the talent from the groups in the area, Nate knew that now was the time to get this group off the ground. Nate has been a marching member of the Freelancers Winter Percussion Ensemble, and the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps. Nate has taught groups in the area such as Newport High School, North Thurston High School, Mariner High School, Southern Oregon Crusaders, and is currently the Program Coordinator of the Kamiak High School Show Band. As Director of PPE, Nate will help run day to day logistical operations for the ensemble, as well as coordinate the staff for the group. Nate will also assume the role of Battery Percussion Arranger, and will head all elements of the Instructional Staff.
Robert Groves too is very excited to be apart of building PPE. Robert has also seen the talent from the Northwest, and has always seen that Winter Percussion would be a great avenue to continue to build music education programs in the Northwest. Robert has been a marching member of the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps. Robert has taught groups in the area such as the Oregon Crusaders, West Coast Sound, the Washington State University Marching Band and currently instructs at Kamiak High School. As the Assistant Director, Robert will also help run the day to day logistical operations for the ensemble. Robert will also be helping instruct the ensemble from a marching/visual aspect, as well as the cymbal line.
Travis Moddison will be arranging the program for PPE. Travis is excited to be working with an Independent Percussion Ensemble. Travis has been a marching member of the Freelancers Winter Percussion Ensemble, and the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps. Travis has taught at such Drum Corps as the Oregon Crusaders, the Seattle Cascades, and the World Champion Cadets. Travis currently arranges music for Grants Pass High School, and Kamiak High School.
Jacob Moddison will be heading up all visual design elements for PPE. Jacob has been a member of groups such as the Freelancers Winter Percussion Ensemble, the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps, West Coast Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, and Full Circle Winter Guard. Jacob has taught at North Thurston High School, and at Kamiak High School.
Stephanie Moddison will be heading up the daily logistical operations. Stephanie's responsibilies include planning facility use, competition preperations, and anything else that may come up. Stephanie was a member of the Seattle Cascades Colorguard. She is currently the director of the Kamiak High School Colorguard and Winterguard, where they have won numerous awards under her direction. Stephanie is very excited to help the up and coming Pinnacle Percussion Ensemble.
Andy Wray is also part of our Battery Staff. Andy was a member of the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps. He has taught many groups in the Northwest such as the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, Cascade High School, Mariner High School, Newport High School, and Kamiak High School. Andy is excited to help start a new Winter Percussion Ensemble in the Northwest.
Adam McFarlin will be joining us this season as a visual tech. Adam performed with the Seattle Cascades in 98-99 and 2001. He is currently finishing out his first full year as marching caption head at Kamiak High School, and is very excited to be joining the staff of another growing northwest group.
