| I don't know much about how everything works but I do know the names of most the parts and what they are for. |

| CPU-the brain of the motherboard ; where circuits are led to and from |
| CACHE MODULE-where recently accessed operations are store to be re-opened later |
| RAM-enables to computer to store actively running applications and thier data |
| CHIPSET-transfers information to and from all other motherboard circuit boards |
| EXPANSION SLOTS-AGP, ISA, and PCI which handle video, audio ,and other subsystems |
| IDE & FLOPPY CONNECTORS-connect to the floppy, cd rom, zip drive, cd-rw drive, etc. |
| BIOS-the chip that goes through and makes sure that the system is running smooth and checks to see that there is as much memory, RAM, etc. as there should be |
| BATTERY-keeps the real time clock correct and keeps you information while the computer is off |
