Recipes

(All recipes using mold 8x4 1/2 inches like the one below

and yield about 7 good thick bars unless otherwise noted. Also, these recipes are for rebatching, and they assume you have a general knowledge of how to do it. For instructions please go here )

Oatmeal and Vanilla Soap

1/2 cup of rolled oats
4 cups unscented white soap shreds
Vanilla fragrance (or flavoring)
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup olive oil (optional, you could substitute shea butter or any other moisturizer, or not use any at all)

Grind oats into smaller pieces, but not powdered. Combine milk, and water (and your moisturizer if you choose to use one) in the bowl you're going to use to melt the soap. Pour soap shreds on top of that. Mix well, until all the excess moisture is absorbed by the soap. Melt in the microwave. Pour in vanilla and then stir in oats. Set in mold until firm enough to be taken out.

Plain Oatmeal Face Bars

1/2 cup oatmeal
1 cup milk
4 cups white unscented soap shreds

Grind oats into smaller pieces, but not powdered. Combine milk and soap shreds in your bowl and mix them well. Melt this soap, and stir in the oatmeal. Pour into mold and let it set.

Strawberries and Cream

6 cups unscented white soap shreds
1/2 cup dehydrated strawberries
Strawberry fragrance oil
Vanilla fragrance/flavoring
Red colouring
1 1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup olive oil (optional)

Put the dehydrated strawberries in your blender and put it on the "chop" setting. Or if your blender doesn't have that, then put it on medium setting for about 20 to 30 seconds. You don't want big chunks of strawberries in your soap. Put 1 cup of milk in the bottom of your bowl. Add 4 cups of shreds. Melt it and then add the strawberry fragrance oil and colouring. Stir in the dehydrated strawberries. Pour it into your mold. That being done, pour the remainder of the milk and the last two cups of soap shreds into the bowl. Melt this, and add the vanilla. Pour on top of the strawberry soap, which should be getting firm, do not pour this white soap onto wet red soap. You'll get a mess. It should have a red layer that smells like strawberry about an inch and a half deep. Then a white layer about half an inch deep.

Peach and Almond

4 cups unscented white soap shreds
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup milk
Peach fragrance oil
1 tbsp sweet almond oil

Combine soap and liquid, melt. Stir in the fragrance oil and the almond oil. You can add food coloring if you like.
